Here are photos of my 1/96 scale F-105 Spanish Aegis Frigate. As you can see it took more than a hit during shipping. When I first built it I had to get it out the door before the photo etch came back from the vendor. The photos of the finished model are after the repairs and I had the photo etch on hand to install it during that time. I even had a little extra time to add other details that I didn't have time for the first time around such as the boat davits. The model is mostly basswood like the other models I've built in this scale. I don't know what they did to cause that kind of damage. The all thread was sheared off at the bottom of the hull and the base was cracked over half of its length. I've had models of this scale shipped back upside down and on their sides (figure that out, the cases have wheels on the bottom) with no damage at all. When you send models to trade shows all over the world damage is a fact of life. So far I've only had two models that were damaged to the point of being a total loss.
